Q1: When was your company established?
A: October 1, 1937; its predecessor was founded in 1872.
Q2: What does the “Express” in Nippon Express mean?
A: It refers to our integrated door-to-door handling of cargo forwarded by railway transport from the shipper to the recipient.
Q3: What services does your company offer?
A: Our services extend across nearly the entire range of logistics, including motor freight transport, railway forwarding, marine transport, air freight forwarding, and warehousing.
Q4: What is your business strategy for the future?
A: We will step up our efforts in international transport, one of our company’s strengths, as we aim to be a global logistics company with a high reputation for designing and proposing optimal logistics services that meet the supply chain and 3PL needs of customers expanding their businesses worldwide.

A: We have 382 business locations in 211 cities in 37 countries around the world, staffed 15,982 employees (as of March 31, 2009).

Q6: How many affiliate companies do you have?
A: We have 289 subsidiaries and 66 overseas affiliate companies (as of March 31, 2009) engaged in forwarding, sales, and other operations both inside and outside Japan.
Q7: What is “modal shift”?
A: Modal shift is a shift in transport modes to highly energy-efficient means such as railway or marine transport to avoid the adverse consequences of excessive reliance on truck transport. Our company is quite pro-active in this area as well.
Q8: How many household/office removals do you handle?
A: In FY2008, the Company handed 501 thousand removals.
